Our idea
Our idea is a technology application, to introduce grade school kids to technology.
- The pupils can watch instruction videos on a tablet/computer about test setups so they can build it in reality and test it.
- In the instruction video the pupils will be told what they need to assemble the test setups and what the final result has to look like. The students have to imitate the final result as good as they can with the help of the information they acquired through the videos over the past weeks. However, The videos do not tell them about how to build the test setup themselves. This is so that they improve their technological insight.
- The exercises are in the beginning of the year all in phase 1. Every phase is linked to a number of exercises. If the pupil has finished a phase they make a short report of their opinion about the exercises and what they have learned. They will also take a test to see if they know the theory well enough
- There are different subjects about Technology with each phase, getting increasingly more complex as the pupils advance to different phases:
Phase 1: beginner
Phase 2: Advanced
Phase 3: Expert
Depending on the level of the pupil, the teacher will decide if they’re ready to finish their current phase.
- The pupils can log in to the site at home, if they want to check the theory for the next lesson, Continue working on their report, or take the knowledge test
- The app is to support technological education. Even if the teacher is not skilled at this subject, he can excellently educate the kids about technology using this app.
To be able to properly execute this idea though, the school will need enough computers. Also, the materials required to build the setups need to be present at the school.
ONS IDEE
Ons idee is een techniekapp.
- De leerlingen kunnen op de tablet/computer instructiefilmpjes bekijken van proefopstellingen, zodat ze het daarna in de werkelijkheid zelf kunnen maken.
- In het instructiefilmpje wordt verteld wat de benodigdheden zijn voor de technische proefopstelling en hoe het eindresultaat eruit ziet, maar er wordt niet verteld hoe de leerlingen het zelf moeten maken. Ze moeten het eindresultaat zelf zo goed mogelijk proberen na te maken met behulp van de theorie die ze de afgelopen weken hebben geleerd. HIerdoor verbeteren ze hun technisch inzicht.
- De opdrachten zijn in het begin van het jaar allemaal in fase 1. Bij elke fase hoort een aantal opdrachten. Als de leerlingen een fase hebben afgesloten maken ze een klein verslag over wat ze van de opdrachten vonden en wat ze hebben geleerd. Ook maken ze een kennistest om hun theoretische kennis te testen. Op basis van de kwaliteit van het verslag en hoe ze de test hebben gemaakt krijgen de kinderen een beoordeling.
- Er zijn verschillende onderwerpen die bij techniekonderwijs aan de orde komen. Bij elk onderwerp kunnen verschillende fases worden onderscheiden.
1e fase = beginner
2e fase = gevorderd
3e fase = expert
Afhankelijk van het niveau van de leerling, bepaalt de leerkracht welke fases de leerling moet afronden.
- De leerlingen kunnen thuis inloggen op de site, zodat ze alvast de theorie kunnen bekijken, verder kunnen gaan met hun verslag of de kennistest kunnen doen.
- Deze app is ter ondersteuning van het techniekonderwijs. Ook als de docent zelf niet technischvaardig is, kan hoogwaardig technisch onderwijs aan de leerlingen gegeven worden.
Om het idee goed uit te kunnen voeren zijn er wel voldoende computers nodig op de scholen. Ook moeten er materialen aanwezeg zijn om de proefjes te kunnen uitvoeren.
